Marc Sindou, MD, PhD
Dr. Sindou, MD, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of Neurosurgery at the University of Lyon, France, and former Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Pierre Wertheimer Hospital. His research and clinical work have focused on functional neurosurgery, specifically the physiology and surgical treatment of pain and spasticity. He is renowned for pioneering the DREZ-otomy (Dorsal Root Entry Zone lesioning) procedure for neuropathic pain. His expertise also encompasses the surgical management of trigeminal neuralgia, including microvascular decompression and radiofrequency thermocoagulation, on which he has published extensively.
